Parents and volunteers are an essential part of the St. Michael School family! There are many ways to share your time and talents, including field trip chaperoning, Parent Ambassador, lunch and recess duty, gym concessions, classroom projects, staff meals, coaching and Religious Education. Whether you volunteer at school or help from home, every contribution makes a difference!
Parents who will be with students unsupervised or in a private setting must complete the following per diocesan-mandated requirements:
(If you are attending a field trip that is open to the public and only driving your own child you are not required to complete the trainings; but it is highly encouraged. Volunteers in need of training will be contacted if requirements are not met.)
Volunteer Requirements
1. Safe Environment Training

- Complete all sections of the program (approx. 1 hour and 15 min)
Safe Environment Renewal: Must be renewed yearly, the diocese asks this to be completed in January each year

3. Under Required Trainings, click 2026 Online RENEWAL Training. (if it says complete you have already completed the renewal)
2. Background Check: Background checks must be renewed every 5 years.

Parent Ambassadors
Join Our Parent Ambassador Team!
Looking for a fun way to get involved at school, meet other parents, and help make the year extra special for our kids? We’d love to have you join our Parent Ambassador Team!
As a Parent Ambassador, you’ll work with a small group of parents to help make a few events throughout the year a success. Don’t worry—you won’t be doing it alone! The responsibilities are shared, and it’s a great way to get involved without a huge time commitment. There is no financial responsibility as SFA provides funding for the below items.
Here’s what you’ll help with:
- Plan and help with the All Saints Day and Christmas classroom parties.
- Work with your team to create two grade-level baskets for the LIVE! Auction.
- Help show our amazing staff some love during Staff Appreciation Week.
It’s a fun way to make memories, support our incredible school community, and help create a great experience for all of our kids.
If you’re interested in joining the Parent Ambassador Team, we’d love to have you! Please let us know at the beginning of each school year if you’d like to volunteer—we can’t do it without amazing parents like you!
